If you come to the Bradbury on a Tuesday, you’ll see Amy Cook dancing away to country music wearing a big smile, lunching with the ladies and sharing her friendship. When Amy told us (as if it were completely normal) how she was to celebrate her 90th Birthday, she kicked up a storm proving that for her, age is just a number.

 ‘I’m going SKY DIVING.’

Yes, and that’s exactly what she did. 13,000 feet up, jumping into the clouds.

Amy said it was amazing and really enjoyed it. Amy flopped out of the plane and was hit by a force of wind but then said it was nice and calm as they slowly went down.

Amy has been a Bradbury member for 3 years. You could say she’s a late starter – learned to swim at 40 – learned to drive at 50 – HEY, sky diving at 90. What next Amy?

A 14 year old Amy worked as a chambermaid, later a seamstress for C&A, progressing to sewing at St James Palace for the Queen

When Amy married her husband it was the first time the church bells had rung since the war. The couple went on to have three children, eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild. Just leaves us to say, AMY, YOU ARE GREAT!!
