Housing Choices

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our Housing Choices services are currently suspended.

However, we will be reviewing the situation as government guidance changes, so if this service is something you are interested in, please get in touch.

Thinking about moving? Not sure where to start?

Need some advice and support?

If you feel the time has come to give serious consideration to moving, Housing Choices from Staywell can help.

Most people tell us that they want to stay in their own home, safe and independent, for as long as they can, and we offer a range of services that can help them do that.

There are some situations however, when a move is the right decision. Perhaps you or your family member wants to downsize, to move closer to family, or into a new and safer home, with more support on hand.

'The plan we discussed was so helpful – I was floundering about before this and didn’t know what to do next.'

Move or stay?

Most of our clients haven’t moved for many years, and don’t have any available support at hand.

Housing Choices can help you think through your options, including moving or staying in your home, through a three-stage process:

  • We can send you a FREE self-help guide. This looks at a wide range of questions associated with planning a possible move.
  • We can come and visit you FREE of charge to discuss your thoughts on moving, and explore any options for you stay in your home with additional support, should this be your preferred choice.
  • If you do decide to move, we can provide you with a tailored package of support, from preparing your home for sale, including de-cluttering if needed, organising property valuations, liaising with estate agents, solicitors and family members if required, to supporting you with the arrangements for final bills and for the move itself.

How much does it cost?

Our initial information and advice is FREE and there is no obligation to proceed.

Once you have made the decision to move and engage us to support you, we charge a fee based on 1.75% of the final sale price of the property (plus VAT), payable in two stages.

Want to find out more?

To find out more, with absolutely no obligation, please call 020 8942 8256 and ask for Housing Choices or use our enquiry form.

    Covid exposes the Digital Divide

The majority of 'older' people do not have a smartphone. As a result, they can be denied access to pubs, cafes and restaurants requiring them to check in with the NHS Track and Trace app - a clear example of the ‘digital divide’. This must change, argues Staywell CEO, Shane Brennan.
