In 2026 we celebrate 80 years since the founding of our organisation:

supporting our older neighbours to live well, stay connected, and remain independent

This year we're asking - even more - for the support of the community.

If you’d like to support older people in the borough today, there are lots of ways to help—volunteer your time, make a donation, or simply spread the word about Staywell’s services.

Ahead of publishing our 2025 Impact Report, here are some of the highlights of our 2025-26 financial year:

Older neighbours supported: 2,265

• Of Kingston's 95+ residents, we reached nearly 1 in 3 (29.5%)
• Of Kingston's 85+ residents, we reached nearly 1 in 4 (23%)
• People who live alone: 583 (26%)
• People living with dementia: 248
• Home visits completed: 1,963
• Hours of Help at Home support delivered: 14162
• Transport journeys provided: 12018
• New referrals received: 1,612

Who they are and what this means

• 48% are aged 80 or over - nearly half are in their ninth decade or beyond
• 32% are aged 85 or over - one third are among our most elderly residents
• 16% are aged 90 or over - we're caring for Kingston's oldest residents
• 62% are women - often widowed, often living alone
• 26% live alone - for many, we're their main connection to the outside world
• 11% have dementia (25% of those aged 85+) - requiring specialist care and family support
