About the centre

The Bradbury is a small purpose-built day centre close to the centre of Kingston. Contemporary and bright in feel, it has a pretty, enclosed patio garden and summerhouse for use in the warmer months of the year.

The centre offers a warm and supportive environment for older people who would like to socialise with others in similar circumstances and take part in a range of structured activities, including exercise, enjoy a meal and have fun!

You will receive refreshments on arrival, lunch, and afternoon tea.

The Bradbury has recently re-opened and we will be listening to people who use the centre to develop a new activity timetable that reflects their needs and wishes.

People using the centre will need to be able to manage their own personal care.

Why join a Staywell day centre?

People tell us that attending a Staywell centre gives them something to look forward to and that they enjoy laughter and companionship. Relatives tell us that we look after their loved ones really well.

Joining a Staywell day centre will give you easy access to practical support, information and advice (including making sure you are receiving all the income you are entitled to) and other services which you may find useful, such as our Help at Home and Handyperson service.

If need be, we can liaise with other people and organisations involved in supporting you, such as your relatives, your GP or the local authority.

Transport

We can advise you on eligibility for a Blue Badge, Taxi-Card or Dial-a-Ride membership and help you apply if needed.

Opening times: Mondays and Wednesdays 10 am to 2.30 pm.

Charge: £24 per session including a two-course lunch.

Keeping everyone safe during Covid-19

  • Keeping our clients, volunteers and staff safe is our highest priority and we recognise that those we work with and support are particularly vulnerable to the worst effects of Covid. We have undertaken a Risk Assessment in line with best-practice guidance and implemented the following measures to protect everyone:
  • All staff and volunteers working at Staywell day centres have been double-vaccinated and have received a booster.
  • We encourage all clients to be double-vaccinated and take boosters or additional vaccinations in line with Government recommendations.
  • If potential clients are unable /not consenting to be vaccinated for medical or other reasons, an individual risk assessment will be carried out and Staywell reserves the right to refuse entry.
  • All staff and volunteers are required to participate in regular testing in line with Government recommendations for day care facilities.
  • We encourage all visitors to take a lateral flow test (LFT) before visiting the centre.
  • All staff and volunteers have received training in infection prevention and control, including correct use of PPE, and are equipped to handle confirmed or suspected Covid-19 cases amongst visitors and colleagues. They also understand how to identify potential health risks and are committed to working together to strictly follow all safety and cleaning protocols.
  • Enhanced cleaning regimes of all day centre areas, at more frequent intervals, are in place. All high-touch points, for example door handles, chair arms, tables, handrails and toilet seat/flusher.
  • Hand sanitiser is provided in key areas and visitors are reminded to wash their hands.
  • Attendance numbers at centres are restricted to allow for social distancing.
  • All visitors are reminded to be respectful of each other’s personal space.
  • Our staff and volunteers will continue to wear a face covering except when seated at desks.
  • Visitors are encouraged to wear a face covering whilst moving around the centre.
  • Cashless payment (direct debit) only.
  • Responsibilities of day centre users include not using the service if they are unwell for any reason, following Test and Trace instructions and following Government guidelines on self-isolation to the best of their ability. Where someone has not been able to follow guidelines it is essential that this information is shared with us.
