Why join us?

We're always looking for great people to join our team.

Join Staywell and you'll be part of an award-winning organisation that's been supporting the community since 1946.

Our strapline is 'Services that changes lives'. Have a look at our stories page and you'll be able to read many accounts from people who have used our services, and the difference Staywell has made to them.

We could not achieve this without the people who work for us, people who really care about what they do, people who know that their work really does make a difference. We expect a lot of our staff - our quality standards are high - but our people tell us that the work is extremely rewarding.

84% of respondents to our 2022 staff survey agreed with the statement 'My work is personally satisfying' (42% strongly agreed).

83% of respondents rated Staywell between 4 & 5 out of 5 as an employer.

This is what Sally said about working for our Help@Home team:

'I would like to thank each and every one of you who work or volunteer for Staywell as you are an inspirational bunch of people and we all work together to deliver a wonderful service to benefit clients who really need us.

I have been part of the Staywell team for just over two and a half years and I am not exaggerating when I say that this has been the best job I have every had.

Not many people get the opportunity to find happiness and satisfaction in their jobs but I have.

It has been a privilege to be part of the community team. We have gone from strength to strength to deliver a service which enables our clients to feel supported through decision making and choices, which empowers their lives and gives them a greater sense of wellbeing.

I have felt supported by everyone from the very first day I started.'

    Rooted in community

Staywell’s story begins in the aftermath of the Second World War, when communities across the country recognised that older people had been left particularly vulnerable by social upheaval, poverty and isolation. In response, local residents came together to form Older People’s Welfare Associations—voluntary, community led organisations created to provide practical help, social connection and dignity at a time when statutory support was limited. We explore why this history matters in 2026.

A legacy of care: £80,000 for 80 Years

Staywell is celebrating its 80th anniversary this year. By donating today, you help ensure that older people in our community receive support when it matters most — before loneliness, ill health or crisis take hold. Your gift helps Staywell provide practical help, emotional support and connection close to home, just as we have done for nearly 80 years. Donate today and help older people live well, with dignity and belonging.
